Transitioning Chords – Guitar Lessons
Having trouble with chords? I know I am – particularly with transitioning. I’m sure part of the solution would be to dedicate more time to the trade, but I’m a pretty busy person so I am always searching for the most time-effective solutions. During my last lesson, Mark introduced me to a great idea which thus far has been working just fine.
This technique originated from one of his young guitar players:
On a chord sheet, cover up chords and uncover the right answer after attempting to answer correctly. You can also make flash cards. Memorizing the chords and your finger-fret placement is a critical component of being successful in chords. Another helping tip is to strum slowly. Strumming slowly gives you a chance to position your fingers correctly for the next chord.
Good luck with guitar chord transitioning!
