Pizza, Birthday & Cheating Daylight
A few days ago, I was having a great Pizza dinner at Pietros Pizza in Vacaville CA. with a few good musician friends of mine and all of a sudden at the next table some young musicians were singing happy birthday to their father. One had a guitar and one a percussion instrument known as a Cajon Percussion Box that produces great low bass frequencies and percussive beat grooves.
Afterwards I asked to borrow the guitar and I played a little for them. It turns out they are brothers and have a contemporary pop group known as “Cheating Daylight”. The oldest, Kyle Crosson (17), writes all the material. He asked me if they could perform a their mew hit song and it was incredibly tight and polished. By the way, they were Los Angeles Music Awards 2011 Power Pop “ Band of the Year.
So, check out for 52 concert dates in 2012.
